Transportation
From LAX: taxis and ride apps
For standard Uber, Lyft, and taxi pickups at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), follow the signs for LAX-it, reached by walking or taking the free LAX-it shuttle. Some services have different pickup locations; follow your app and the airport’s current instructions.
Check fares when booking and allow extra time for Los Angeles traffic. For your return journey from campus, use UCLA’s designated ride-hail pickup zones.
From LAX: public transit
- Take the free airport shuttle from your terminal to the LAX/Metro Transit Center.
- Board Culver CityBus Line 6 or Rapid 6 northbound toward UCLA/Westwood.
- Choose a stop near your hotel or continue to UCLA. Check the current route map and timetable before traveling.
Weekend travel: Line 6 has weekend service; Rapid 6 currently operates on weekdays only.
Arriving by train
For connections from Los Angeles Union Station to campus, consult UCLA’s Union Station travel guide. Check current routes and departure times for your travel date.
Driving and parking
Parking Structures 2 and 8 are nearby options for IPAM. A valid UCLA parking permit is required. See UCLA Visitor Parking for parking maps, current rates, and payment instructions.
Use the venue addresses above when planning your trip, and check your hotel’s parking arrangements separately if you are staying overnight.
